Born and raised in Germany, Dr. Laura Stoltenberg moved to Australia in 2007 to study marine biology and has since built a career spanning marine science, aquaculture, and the not-for-profit and natural resource management sectors. With a strong foundation in scientific research and industry engagement, Laura brings extensive experience in project management, communications, and stakeholder collaboration to WISA.

She has worked closely with the aquaculture sector to support sustainable practices, strengthen community connections, and translate science into practical, real-world outcomes. Passionate about people and industry alike, Laura is committed to collaboration, amplifying diverse voices, and helping build a more inclusive, connected and thriving seafood sector.

Laura lives in nipaluna, Hobart where she enjoys the ever-changing views of Mt Wellington (kunanyi) and when not working, can be found riding her bike, sailing on the Derwent, or bracing the cold waters in her newfound passion for freediving.
